Dr. Kia’s journey into chiropractic began with a longstanding fascination with human anatomy, particularly the spine and nervous system and the essential role they play in overall health. His early interest in martial arts sparked a deeper curiosity about how the body functions, while his family’s firsthand experiences with back pain gave him a personal appreciation for the impact spinal health can have on everyday life. Together, these experiences inspired him to pursue a career in chiropractic.
Having lived in three different countries—Iran, Dubai, and Canada—Dr. Kia grew up surrounded by diverse cultures and communities. He is fluent in both English and Farsi and is proud to provide care to patients from a wide range of backgrounds.
Originally from Toronto, Dr. Kia attended York University, where he studied Kinesiology and developed a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and the relationship between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. He later completed his Doctor of Chiropractic education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
For Dr. Kia, chiropractic is as much an art as it is a science. He views adjusting as a hands-on craft—one that requires precision, timing, coordination, touch, and the ability to adapt to the person in front of him. Much like a performing art, no two adjustments are exactly alike. Each patient presents differently, and Dr. Kia enjoys the skill involved in selecting the right technique, position, and approach for that individual. He utilizes a variety of chiropractic techniques, including Activator Methods, allowing him to adapt his care to each patient’s needs and comfort.
This appreciation for the art of chiropractic is one of the aspects of practice Dr. Kia enjoys most. He is continually interested in refining his adjusting skills and developing the technical precision that comes from combining an understanding of anatomy with the experience and feel of hands-on care.
His passion for health extends well beyond the treatment room. Dr. Kia has a strong interest in health, wellness, and nutrition and enjoys helping patients better understand their bodies so they can take an active role in their long-term well-being.
Recently relocating from Toronto to Kitchener, Dr. Kia is excited to become part of the local community and serve patients throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys cooking, playing tennis, and anything related to guitars and rock music. An avid concertgoer, he rarely passes up the opportunity to experience live music.
